Procurement and contracting consulting
I'm Chris Martoglio, owner of Blue Burro Technology. I work on the parts of procurement that most consultancies treat as an afterthought — the contract templates, the negotiating positions, and the documents that decide how fast a business can actually buy something.
Some of my work is direct with the buyer. A good deal of it comes through consulting firms who bring me in to give strategic guidance to their clients and their client teams. Both arrangements work; the engagement paper is already written for each.
What I work on
Contract template rewrites. I score a template set against my rubric, then rebuild it. Scored before and after, so the change is measurable rather than a matter of opinion. I do the drafting — your attorneys review rather than write, which is usually the difference between a rewrite that finishes and one that stays on the list for three years.
Negotiation and contract management playbooks. Pre-approved responsive language mapped to the redlines you actually receive, and what your team has to do after signature — the notices, cure periods, inspections and approvals each template requires, with who does each one and when.
Sourcing and category strategy. Capex and project sourcing, category strategies, supplier performance management, procurement assessments, and the training and change work that makes any of it stick.
DraftOnce
My team and I built DraftOnce, the document assembly platform behind this work. It is how a template set is maintained and distributed once it is right — a contract assembled from the approved template by answering questions, rather than by editing last quarter’s copy. It is deterministic: no AI model deciding what your contract says. draftonce.com
